Conference History

INFOWARCON, now IWC-3 (Information Warfare and Cyber Conflict Conference), was created in 1994 by Winn Schwartau, an author, speaker, and highly sought-after cyber expert. Winn frequently keynotes at cyber security and information warfare themed conferences worldwide. He has even appeared before congress where he coined the phrase “digital Pearl Harbor.” Winn’s original concepts of punching the envelope and challenging convention continue with IWC-3.

IWC-3 was created for passionate advocates to come together to discuss the pros, cons, past, present, and future of cyber. The conference has always been ahead of its time bringing together attendees ranging from inquisitive undergraduates performing research to Ambassadors, Generals, and other senior government officials.

Throughout the history of IWC it has travelled to mulitple countries and partnered with a range of organizations to bring the insights and access necessary to challenge the status quo. In early 2018, friends and colleagues, Travis Hartman, William Kimble, and James Wright took over the conference. They continually work to bring Winn’s vision (and a little of his craziness) into the future.
